North Star- Berks

24/7 PROGRAM

The Refuge

In 2024 North Star Initiative expanded its long-term restoration program to The Refuge Home in Berks County, after entering into a leadership agreement with Freedom and Restoration for Everyone Enslaved (F.R.E.E). Since 2023, The Refuge offers transitional housing for a survivor in an urban setting. Survivors who are ready for independent living with a framework of support can access safe, sober, affordable housing with supports from NSI’s professional staff.

AWARENESS + ADVOCACY

Education

Raising awareness and providing advocacy through education is essential to support survivors, prevent trafficking, and create a safer future. We serve our community by presenting educational seminars to churches, civic organizations, schools, and business associations. Presentations can be customized based on the setting, audience, needs of your organization, and specific questions you may have. Fill out the form to tell us more about your interests or event, and we will work with you to coordinate the details. By learning the facts about trafficking, we can coordinate our efforts to end it
